Ledeker’s “Full Circle” exhibit features fourteen jewel-like watercolors embellished with color and symbolism, and classically gilded with 23 carat raised gold. Seven Deadly Sins and corresponding Heavenly Virtues display as a pair – balancing truth.
April featured artist is Cathy Ledeker, illustrator and watercolorist. Cathy splits her time between Lawrence, KS and Creede, CO, where she finds differing geographic inspirations, yet both areas provide a meditative environment to stimulate her imagination.
“Full Circle” was created specifically for this exhibition, balancing sin and virtue, finding beauty and humanity in both. The series hosts fourteen works of art, created with vibrant flowers and other symbolism representative of the seven sins and seven virtues. Each piece is gilded in 23 carat raised gold, giving it a jewel-like embellishment.
